The White Tree Band

The White Tree Band is one of the freshest live outfits playing around Melbourne and Sydney.  Think Miles Davis meets Kanye West, or Keith Richards meets Florence and the Machine…minus the aggression, ego, drunken antics and bright red hair.  We pride ourselves on our versatile instrumentation, tight live sound, and varied repertoire to suit a range of modern events.  At one gig we may be heard performing suave jazz with a brass section and dazzling female vocalist, and at the next gig we may be rocking out tracks by Kings of Leon, The Stones, and the Grand father of soul…James Brown.

The members of the band are extremely versatile. Typically we perform chilled background tunes during the early stages of an event, acting more as atmospheric mood music. But we can quickly transform into a highly energetic dance band for later in the night (when the guests have had a few more drinks). For these more dance orientated sets, the band can perform all the funk and rock classics as well as killer new music. This way the more youthful guests will be satisfied…and old Granny Mavis will be able to shake her tail feather too.  View our song list

The White Tree Band can also learn your bridal waltz to perform live or the boss’ favourite songs to satisfy his/her karaoke dreams! Requests are happily taken on the night thanks to the band’s musical versatility and experience.

Band Configuration

The configuration of The White Tree Band can be customised to suit your budget, your preferred music genres and the tone of your event. However if you are after the Grease Mega Mix performed by 90s rockers who use MIDI backing tracks and wear tight spandex, then we probably aren’t the band for you.

For most styles of music we need at least 3 members for a full live sound – and to avoid the use of nasty backing tracks. For a bigger and more versatile sound The White Tree Band can grow to an impressive 12 piece line up, incorporating instruments such as percussion, backing singers, and horn sections with saxophone, trombone, and trumpet.
